About Patrick Hyland

Award winning Irish tenor Patrick Hyland is a regular on the operatic and concert stage. Having studied in the Royal Irish Academy of Music under Dr Veronica Dunne he has received widespread critical acclaim from leading global opera magazines Opera News Magazine, Opera Today and Opera Magazine. He has performed with the National Symphony Orchestra, the RTE Concert Orchestra and Irish National Opera . He was awarded the Dermot Troy Prize for the best Irish singer at the 2016 Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition and was a semi-finalist in the Angelo Lo Forese Competition, Milan in 2017. In 2025 he joined The Irish Tenors alongside Anthony Kearns and Ronan Tynan.

Patrick Hyland is one of Irelands most celebrated tenors. His unique and powerful voice is a masterful expression of artistry at the highest level.

Interpretative talent

He was awarded best Irish singer at the prestigious Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition in 2016 and was a semi-finalist of the Angelo Lo Forse Competition in Milan 2017.

Charity work

Patrick has sung at many events over the years helping to raise money for charities. These include Laura Lynn Ireland’s Children’s Hospice, Barrettstown Children's Charity, Bobby’s Wish to Walk, Saplings Special School, The Alzheimer Society of Ireland, KARE and Tiglin Addiction Centre. He is a former committee member of the Friends of the Vocal Arts/Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition.

He is a multiple Feis Ceoil winner including the Dermot Troy Trophy for Oratorio, the Count John McCormack Cup, the William Young Cup, the Operatic Duet Cup and the Sligo Feis Ceoil best male singer award. He is a recipient of a bursary from the Count John McCormack Society and is a former Opera Theatre Young Associate Artist.

Patrick has a B.A. in History and Politics from University College Dublin.

The Irish Tenors

In July 2025 Patrick joined The Irish Tenors alongside Anthony Kearns and Ronan Tynan. He performed with them at the Boyle Arts Festival and later for a Christmas Tour in November and December across the United States in 2025. In March 2026 he joined them again for a St. Patrick’s Tour in the United States.
